Soft Peach Cobbler

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup peach syrup/liquid from can
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cup sliced peaches
1 teaspoon cinnamon

 

Preheat oven to 400F degrees.

Melt butter and pour into a shallow 2 quart baking dish.

Combine all other ingredients and pour into the baking dish over the butter; DO NOT STIR. Layer peaches on the top of the batter.

Bake at 400 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the top is puffy and medium brown in color.

Note: If using fresh peaches, substitute milk or fruit juice for syrup/liquid from canned peaches.
